What does a Project Coordinator do at Mappedin? How does this role help the Customer Implementations team deliver incredible mapping solutions to customers?
We recently sat down and chatted with Elizabeth D’Cruze, our Project Coordinator, to learn more.

How would you best describe your role?
I lead and manage complex mapping projects by coordinating across internal teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Developer Relations, and our partner Global Logic, to ensure seamless alignment with external stakeholders, including customers and mapping partners.
I act as the central point of communication and execution, driving progress, maintaining project momentum, and proactively addressing day-to-day challenges that could impact delivery timelines or customer outcomes. By tightly integrating the efforts of our internal functions with those of external collaborators, I ensure that each mapping project meets strategic objectives and operational expectations, ultimately contributing to successful customer adoption and long-term satisfaction.
What does your typical workday look like?
Morning: I start my day by checking emails and joining morning meetings. I then focus on reviewing and organizing implementation tickets, ensuring there are no blockers, and immediately addressing any questions from the team.
Afternoon: Afternoons are usually reserved for focus time. I spend a lot of time on QA and preparing for upcoming customer meetings to ensure we’re always a step ahead.
My go-to lunch is: Eggs and sourdough bread!
What part of your role do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy the moment when everything comes together, seeing a project go from concept to execution, and knowing the impact it has is really fulfilling. It's not always easy, and it takes a lot of people working together, but getting to see the final result and how it helps is great. When all the pieces fit together and work well, you see how powerful teamwork and good planning can be.
How do you ensure project stakeholders are aligned and informed throughout the implementation process?
Communication is key! I send regular updates via email. During customer onboarding, I provide a structured plan that outlines milestones, anticipated timelines, and the full customer journey through the project lifecycle. If anything shifts from the original plan, I take a proactive approach to communication, which helps mitigate potential misunderstandings, fosters trust, and contributes to a smoother and more successful project execution.
How do you handle changes or delays in a project timeline?
I start by assessing how the delay will affect the project, then I look into different solutions, including creative or non-traditional ones, to resolve the issue efficiently. Once I’ve identified a path forward, I communicate the update transparently with my team and stakeholders.
Is there a previous project you’re especially proud of that you helped deliver?
Mapping the biggest professional football event of the year was a standout for me! It was high-impact, fast-paced, and everything came together seamlessly. It was a great achievement for the entire team and gave the company as a whole a lot of visibility from the sheer number of visitors who used the map.
How would you describe your experience at Mappedin thus far, and how does the team culture help you thrive?
My experience at Mappedin has been incredibly positive. The team really embraces a growth mindset. There’s a strong culture of encouraging people to go beyond their job descriptions, try new things, and contribute to innovation. That environment has helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect.
What advice would you give someone looking to build a career in project implementation, particularly in the tech or SaaS space?
Learn how to break down complex projects into manageable, well-defined tasks with clear objectives and timelines. This also facilitates progress tracking and risk mitigation. Being detail-oriented is important, but so is staying adaptable and creative when solving problems. The technology landscape is constantly evolving, and unforeseen challenges are inevitable. Always be open to trying new approaches to get the job done. Continuous learning and a willingness to embrace change are essential for long-term success in this field.
Elizabeth’s day showcases the dedication and enthusiasm fueling the adoption and growth of Mappedin's products and solutions. Stay tuned for more stories highlighting our talented team.
