About St. Louis CITY SC

St. Louis CITY SC plays at Energizer Park, a 22,500-seat stadium in midtown St. Louis built around community, energy, and local identity.

Food is a defining element of the match experience. More than 25 local food partners showcase the diversity of St. Louis cuisine, making matchday as much about culture as competition. At the same time, fans are navigating multiple levels, amenities, merchandise, and time-sensitive decisions before kickoff and during halftime.

Delivering clarity in that environment requires more than static signage.

"Four seasons in, our interactive stadium map is still delivering real value on matchday. It reduces friction for fans, adapts as our stadium footprint evolves, and highlights new local food partners — all while supporting initiatives like Mobile Order Ahead in a fast-moving, live stadium environment.”

— Aaron Brewer, Senior Product Manager, St. Louis CITY SC

The challenge

Matchday at Energizer Park is dense and dynamic. Fans want to:

  • Find their seats quickly
  • Discover local food partners
  • Locate amenities without missing match action

The stadium footprint evolves season over season as food partners rotate and adjust locations. The club needed a digital solution that could adapt quickly to layout changes, make discovery intuitive, serve as a reliable spatial reference for both fans and staff, and capture what fans are actively searching for in real time.

The solution

St. Louis CITY SC integrated Mappedin’s interactive mapping platform directly into the official CITY App, creating a searchable and continuously updated digital stadium guide.

The map functions as a foundational matchday utility—a structured spatial layer supporting navigation and discovery across the entire stadium.

High-signal discovery behavior

Since launch, fans have conducted more than 31,900 searches within the interactive map. Notably, 73% of food partner interactions begin with search—signaling intentional discovery rather than passive browsing.

By elevating new food partners within the interactive stadium map, we made discovery easier for fans—driving increased engagement and contributing to up to 150% higher sales compared to previous partners in the same locations.

This behavior provides directional insight into which food categories generate the most curiosity, how discovery patterns shift season over season, and which food partners are driving early attention.

Supporting mobile order ahead

The majority of food partners at Energizer Park offer Mobile Order Ahead through the CITY App. The interactive map plays a critical role by making those partners easily discoverable.

By reducing uncertainty around location, the map helps remove friction between discovery and action—an important advantage in a time-sensitive matchday setting.

A shared spatial reference

The interactive map serves both fans and matchday staff. Fans use it to explore confidently and return to their seats without hesitation. The "Save My Section" feature eliminated the anxiety of getting lost—fans can mark their seat section on the map when they arrive, ensuring they can always navigate back no matter where their pre-game wanderings take them.

The feature addresses the universal stadium concern: "I want to explore, but what if I can't find my way back?" When fans feel confident they can return to their seats, they're more likely to venture out and spend money at concessions.

The map also displays suggestions for nearby vendors based on saved sections. A fan sitting in Section 137 searching for a snack sees the closest options first, reducing the friction between craving and purchase. This contextual intelligence means fans can grab food without missing game action.

Staff use the same platform to understand food partner placement, amenities, and seasonal layout adjustments. Because the platform is flexible and easy to update, changes can be reflected quickly without relying solely on printed materials.

Designed for live environments

On matchday, speed and clarity matter. The interactive map consistently ranks among the most-used matchday utilities in the CITY App, helping fans make confident decisions in a crowded, fast-moving setting.

The result: 375,000+ sessions and an 84% satisfaction rate.

A foundational matchday utility

At Energizer Park, the interactive map is more than a floor plan. It's a dynamic, structured spatial layer embedded within the broader fan journey, supporting navigation, amplifying local food partners, and reinforcing Mobile Order Ahead adoption.

For St. Louis CITY SC, Mappedin provides the flexibility and reliability needed to evolve the stadium footprint season over season while delivering clarity in one of the most dynamic environments in sports.
