Our retail wayfinding app was initially developed to help store associates optimize their routes for picking online orders.
We designed the app to create measurable time savings within the grocery use case. As the app has developed with expanded features, two main aspects are showing value for verticals outside of grocery.
Within a shopper-facing application, the list feature allows users to create a shopping list that they can follow through the store, mirroring the Pick and Pack process, but for consumers.
This feature is further personalized for each user through the ability to push advertisements or promotions for specific items already on their list, or items that they purchase frequently. It also offers the ability to motivate shoppers to purchase items not on their list by letting shoppers know about deals and where those items are located in the store outside of their current path.
The multi-stop capability augments a full navigation experience by allowing users to plan their route end-to-end. Much like the List feature allows users to input items as ‘stops’, the multi-stop takes this a step further by allowing you to plan out the best route around a venue.
With the ability to optimize across any number of venues, multi-stop functionality brings point A to Z closer together.
The list and multi-stop features can also add value outside of retail. By integrating with existing systems, we look forward to seeing the below applications of these features come to life.
Inventory management: Easily manage a live version of all inventory and track where and when items come in or leave. This integration is especially effective for First In, First Out inventory systems.
Warehouse logistics: Plan routes for pickers to increase time savings per order or batch. This allows for planning of inventory overstock, moving products to their most optimal storage point, and communicating that through a live map in-app.
Distribution centre optimization: Organize and plan the floor layout of inventory based on what is picked most frequently through picking pattern analysis. This allows for time saved on common item orders and creating better process flow throughout a facility.
Navigation: Allow visitors to navigate through the terminal by finding a restaurant, a coffee shop, and the duty-free on the way to their gate, with plenty of time to make it to the bathroom before they board.
