About Scottsdale Fashion Square
Scottsdale Fashion Square opened in 1961 at the corner of Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road, and has grown into Arizona's largest mall and one of the top-performing retail centers in the United States, ranked No. 6 nationally by USA Today in 2025.
Owned and managed by Macerich, the property spans approximately 2 million square feet across three levels, draws roughly 19.5 million visitors annually, and generates over $1 billion in annual sales.
The mall's tenant mix is anchored by Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Macy's, Dillard's, and Dick's Sporting Goods, with more than 240 stores and restaurants spread across a luxury corridor and a broader premium retail floor.
The north wing houses designer boutiques including Hermès, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Brunello Cucinelli, and Saint Laurent, alongside flagship stores from Apple, lululemon, Alo Yoga, and Zara. In 2024, Caesars Republic Scottsdale opened on the north side of the property — the first non-gaming hotel from the Caesars brand, with a direct walkway into the mall. Experiential tenants include:
- Four-level Life Time Fitness
- Harkins Camelview Theatre
- Industrious coworking
- Wonderspaces immersive art installation
The south wing underwent a significant renovation in 2023–2024, transforming into the property's newest dining and entertainment district with restaurants including Catch, Society Swan, and Élephante. This complements the north luxury wing, which houses its own established high-end dining roster including Nobu, Ocean 44, and Toca Madera.
The Palm Court gathering space is currently undergoing an enhancement project announced in late 2025 to add refined finishes and dynamic digital displays. To accommodate the influx of visitors to the dining district, a marquee seven-lane valet system was built exclusively for the new south entrance. Because the north luxury wing operates its own separate valet services, entry routing remains a highly practical consideration for any guest depending on their destination.
Why interactive wayfinding matters here
Scottsdale Fashion Square has two distinct destinations in one property: a luxury shopping wing anchored by Neiman Marcus, and a south dining district that draws crowds independent of retail. The two halves have separate valet entrances and different parking approaches off Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road.
A visitor arriving for Nobu and a visitor arriving for Hermès should enter from different points entirely, and the map makes that obvious before they leave the hotel. With the Palm Court renovation underway in 2026 and new boutiques continuing to open, tenant positions and access routes are shifting. Macerich's most profitable asset deserves a map that keeps pace with it.
