As we approach a new year, it’s time to reflect on the impact and milestones reached in 2025. This year was all about innovation: we reimagined what’s possible—extending our limits beyond indoor maps for wayfinding and into world-class venue experience and operations.
In 2025, we powered 260+ million visitor sessions within some of the world’s busiest and most complex venues. From multi-level shopping centers to massive international airports and beyond, our indoor mapping technology helped people not only find their way, but also discover unforgettable experiences, stay safe, and save time.
We helped venues increase efficiencies through integrated operations and detailed visitor analytics. We mapped 37,753 venues in 197 countries and territories and mapped over 760 million square feet, now totaling nearly 7 billion square feet around the world.
But the numbers only tell part of the story.
What truly defined our year was our customer-first commitment to industry-leading innovation and impact. Our product, customer success, and award-winning Developer team worked with customers and partners to take indoor mapping to new levels, earning recognition from highly regarded industry organizations.
2025 was a pivotal year for powering new mapping innovations to better serve our customers. Thank you to our valued customers and partners who inspire us every day to create unforgettable venue experiences and streamlined venue operations.
Product innovation: Expanding the limits of indoor maps
We've never been content to just maintain the status quo. This year, we completely reimagined what indoor mapping can do, transforming our platform into something much bigger: a true venue experience platform.
A new era for venue experience
This year, we launched a major update within our indoor mapping platform. The new map visualization engine brings indoor spaces to life like never before:
- Immersive 3D visualization featuring full building models and facades to showcase your complete venue, from stacked levels, bridges, below-ground spaces and more
- A homepage built for engagement lets you customize and highlight your most important destinations to drive foot traffic where it counts
- Smarter navigation labels adapt to show visitors the most relevant information in any context
- Wayfinding that just makes sense with redesigned directions that guide visitors with clarity and confidence

What this means for different venue types
- Shopping centers and malls can now feature top destinations and categories right on the homepage. The "recently searched" feature helps shoppers rediscover stores they've looked up before. Detailed engagement data shows exactly how people move through the space and what catches their attention.
- Airports can integrate live flight search, showcase key categories, and promote events—all from the homepage. Multi-path routing considers real-world factors like security wait times, helping passengers make smarter decisions. The system tracks the complete passenger journey across multiple buildings and floors, giving airports unprecedented insight into how travelers move through their facilities.
- Stadiums get precise positioning through "Start from Here" QR codes placed throughout the venue. Fans can navigate between levels easily, and venues can control which labels appear during different events. Rich visuals showcase concessions and merchandise, while detailed analytics reveal fan behavior patterns.

Microsoft Places integration
We rolled out an integration with Microsoft Places, bringing sophisticated workplace management to office spaces built on Microsoft 365.
The integration changes the game for workspace management. There’s no more guessing which conference room is where or wondering if your favorite desk is available: Employees can now book desks and rooms directly from an interactive map.
For workspace managers, this change saves time and adds meaningful efficiencies:
- Better space optimization
- Improved employee experience
- Streamlined operations
- Simple, intuitive interface
Mappedin Directory for Airports
As a follow up to our airport maps already available on web and mobile, we also launched Mappedin Directory for Airports. It’s immediately changed how airports think about passenger engagement.
The new interactive directory serves as a real-time information hub that supports 40+ languages, displays live flight status, shows real-time security checkpoint wait times, and helps retailers promote deals to boost non-aeronautical revenue.
This launch supports more than just the passenger experience, too. It optimizes airport operations by offering one platform to manage updates across kiosks, apps and integrators, smart tools that promote tenants based on real-time data, and syncs with security, flight information and parking systems.
Three major airports have already rolled out their enhanced experience with Mappedin Directory:

Office Directory and partnership with Cadillac Fairview
To create a true communication hub for the entire building community, we rolled out Mappedin Premium Directory at Cadillac Fairview's Toronto head office. Because the building connects to CF Eaton Centre, it provides a unique benefit: a seamless navigation experience that flows between a major shopping center and a commercial office building.
Property managers use it to promote office events, share building updates, display nearby public transit options, highlight amenities, and showcase tenants on directory screens.

Game-changing updates on Mappedin Maker
2025 was an exciting year for our self-serve map making software, Mappedin Maker. From detailed POI location cards to new API solutions for partners, mappers are fully empowered to build detailed, always-accurate maps for endless use cases.
- Add hours, contact information, website links, category tags, and images for your Points of Interest with newly optimized location cards
- Enable navigation that spans multiple buildings so visitors can find their way across entire campuses, or see one building at a time while exploring the map
- For partners, automate workspace creation, manage client maps, and generate API keys and reports
Customer impact: Powering the world’s premier venues
This year, Mappedin continued to widen its footprint in venues around the world. We worked closely with partners to map more than 37,000+ new venues globally, emphasizing the trust that some of the world’s most prestigious venues have in Mappedin to power their indoor maps. Our technology and partnerships have helped venues—from shopping centers and hospitals to airports and stadiums, and beyond—power exceptional visitor experiences.

One Bangkok, a mixed-use development in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand, launched in late October with Mappedin Web, SDK, and Premium Directories. One Bangkok spans an impressive 16.7 hectares with five office towers, luxury retail, residential spaces, hotels, and a massive central park. A project of this scale demands mapping technology that can handle incredible complexity while remaining intuitive for visitors.
Go Media Stadium: New Zealand
Late this year, Go Media Stadium in Auckland, NZ launched their Mappedin platform with plans to use our multi-layout capabilities to support various events throughout the year. Whether it's a rugby match, concert, or community event, the venue can adapt the map to match what's happening that day.
Keflavík International Airport + Icelandair: Iceland
Launching earlier this year, Mappedin partnered with Keflavík International Airport + Icelandair to deliver a unified, end-to-end airport experience using Mappedin’s platform. This groundbreaking partnership centralizes solutions for seamless airport navigation, improved operational efficiency, and increased commercial growth.
Icelandair passengers now get a seamless experience from booking to baggage claim. The airport features live flight data, security wait time integrations, and will soon add directories to create an even more connected experience.
Powering better airport experiences in Pittsburgh, PA
