WATERLOO, Ontario – April 23, 2026 – Miami International Airport and Mappedin, the indoor mapping platform transforming the way venues are experienced and managed, today announced the launch of the MIA Virtual Assistant, the airport’s omnichannel conversational agents, becoming the first large-scale deployment of geo-aware, agentic AI in the aviation industry.
Powered by Mappedin, in partnership with Satisfi Labs for web and WhatsApp, and Hypervsn for holographic avatars, these AI-driven experiences deliver consistent, geo-intelligent guidance across each channel and in any language. Radiant Technology provided the data backbone, normalizing real-time operational data for the virtual assistant. Whether a passenger is planning their trip from home, checking updates en route, or navigating the terminal in front of a hologram, they get the same accurate, contextual answer.
“This is what the future looks like – and it’s being built right here in Miami-Dade,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
The new airport intelligence layer
MIA serves more than 55 million passengers annually. At that scale, getting the right information to the right traveler at the right moment is essential, and traditional tools weren't built to connect flights, security, retail, and facilities into a single, real-time intelligence layer.

"Airports have become complex ecosystems, and geo intelligence is a new layer of the digital infrastructure," said Yuval Kossovsky, Managing Director of Transportation at Mappedin.
Secure, scalable, and enterprise-ready
This new experience runs entirely within MIA’s Microsoft Azure environment, ensuring full governance and compliance with airport IT and security standards. Leveraging Azure OpenAI capabilities, the system delivers multilingual, natural-language interactions and real-time reasoning while allowing MIA to maintain complete control over data, compliance, infrastructure, and security — becoming a model for how mission-critical operations can adopt advanced AI safely, responsibly, and at scale.
