About MetLife Stadium

MetLife Stadium opened on April 10, 2010 on the site of the former Giants Stadium in the Meadowlands Sports Complex, East Rutherford, New Jersey. Built at a cost of over $2 billion, it is the largest NFL stadium by total seating capacity, holding:

  • 82,500 fans across three main levels
  • 10,005 club seats
  • Approximately 218 luxury suites

It's the only NFL venue shared by two franchises: the New York Giants and the New York Jets.

The stadium is defined by scale. Four 30-by-118-foot LED video boards anchor the seating bowl, a 360-degree ribbon board runs the full perimeter, and front-row 50-yard-line seats sit just 46 feet from the sideline.

Concession options vary, from deli sandwiches, pizza, and stadium staples to cultural favorites like Korean pulled pork, empanadas, Asian noodles and dumplings, gyros, and fried clams. The venue operates on a fully cashless system.

For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, MetLife is hosting eight matches including the Final on July 19. On match days and NFL Sundays alike, 82,500 people moving through eight gates across three concourse levels creates a navigation challenge that a current, accurate map makes meaningfully easier.

Why interactive wayfinding matters here

A stadium this size has a straightforward wayfinding problem: most of the 82,500 fans in it have never been to MetLife before, don't know which gate serves their section, and arrive by NJ Transit with no car as a landmark.

A printed PDF map doesn't update when a concession stand closes mid-game or a gate assignment changes for a soccer configuration. Stadium operators use Mappedin to push those updates live, so every change ships in seconds across the website, app, and in-venue digital signage simultaneously.

That's what the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, SoFi Stadium, and venues like MetLife use to keep crowd flow moving and wayfinding queries off the operations team.
